Respectful Communication (Communication Excellence Series 2/4)

This workshop series is designed to guide you through the essential elements of effective communication, from delivering impactful presentations to resolving conflicts and excelling in public speaking.

The Communication Excellence series includes Accelerate Action with Women in Leadership: Panel Discussion (Mar. 4), Respectful Communication (Mar. 18), Conflict Resolution (Apr. 1) and The Art of Public Speaking and Storytelling (Apr. 15).

 

In today's business world, self-awareness and cultural sensitivity are key to effective communication and enhanced rapport building. In this session, participants will develop an appreciation for the communication process and the many elements that impact our ability to understand and be understood by others.

In this session, you will:

• explore intercultural communication
• develop an understanding of perception checking
• understand non-verbal communication
• learn how to adopt effective listening techniques


About the Facilitators

Martha Gutierrez is a dedicated Career Development Practitioner passionate about helping individuals achieve their career goals. Since 2021, she has significantly contributed to student success at Seneca Polytechnic through various roles, one-on-one interactions and numerous successful career events. Martha is a proud Seneca Alumni with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce - Human Resources Management degree and an Advanced Diploma in Business Administration - Human Resources.

Hana El Kaissi is a career professional with over 20 years in post-secondary institutions helping individuals with their career goals. She is a Certified Career Strategist with a Master of Education from OISE, Univerisity of Toronto specializing in career and work. Hana enjoys helping individuals tap into their skills and talents to reach their career aspirations.
