 A Guide to the Employment Standards Act, The Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development

The Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development is hosting an online information session to provide a general overview of the Employment Standards Act (ESA). The session will be delivered by subject matter experts from the ministry and cover a variety of topics relating to rights and obligations in the workplace. Such topics include:
  • Your rights, responsibilities in the workplace
  • Wages, vacation pay and leaving a job
  • What is the Employment Standards Act and does it apply to everyone?

Facilitator Bio: 

Paul Cannis is an Employment Standards Officer and Seneca Alumni and currently on an assignment as the Employment Standards Program Manager with the Central East, Toronto West team. The role of an Employment Standards Officer primarily consists of the administration and enforcement of the legislation by way of claim investigations and workplace inspections. Program objectives include educating the employer and employee, achieving compliance, and deter the employer from contraventions.
